Business Intelligence and AI Application Developer

As a Business Intelligence & AI Application Developer, you will design and deliver advanced analytics solutions that provide insights into the historical, current, and future state of the business. You will partner with business stakeholders and application teams to understand processes, data sources, and opportunities, and develop scalable data models, ETL pipelines, and analytics solutions.

 

In addition, you will leverage modern AI and machine learning techniques to enhance analytics capabilities, enable predictive insights, automate data processes, and improve decision-making across the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with business users to understand processes, performance improvement goals, and analytics needs; translate requirements into data models, ETL pipelines, reporting, and AI-driven analytical solutions.
  • Develop functional scope documents, resource plans, and time estimates; clearly communicate analytical capabilities, including AI/ML opportunities and limitations.
  • Design and implement data models, data integration, and analytics solutions, including Business Objects universes, dashboards, mobile analytics, and advanced analytics (statistical modeling, forecasting, and machine learning).
  • Apply AI/ML techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and automation) to enhance business insights and reduce manual effort.
  • Establish and follow data modeling standards, best practices, and enterprise architecture guidelines to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to support system integration and ensure data quality, consistency, and adherence to business rules.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources, including structured and unstructured data.
  • Implement data validation, reconciliation, testing, and troubleshooting processes to ensure reliable analytics solutions.
  • Provide production support, perform root cause analysis, and proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.
  • Identify training and communication needs; educate business users on analytics tools, dashboards, and AI-driven insights.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with software development methodologies; provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with global BI, data engineering, and data science teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis.

Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Three years’ experience in requirements gathering and delivering analytics solutions that drive business value. 
  • Solid understanding of database systems, including data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with ETL tools and BI platforms (e.g., SAP Business Objects or similar).
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as predictive analytics, data mining, or statistical modeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (cloud, big data, or real-time processing) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
