Senior Analyst, Security Policy & Awareness
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
In our 'always on' world, we believe it's essential to have a genuine connection with the work you do.
Are you excited by a challenge and driven by learning and growth? Then joining CommScope’s cybersecurity program may be your next step. In this role, you will be responsible for two of our crucial security functions: awareness and policy. This is a hybrid role and you would be expected to be in the office three or more days a week in either Charlotte, NC, Richardson, TX or Suwanee, GA.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
Security awareness begins with data – understanding which employees make security mistakes, when, how, and why. But to change behavior requires emotional intelligence, thoughtfulness – and more than a little creativity.
The policy aspect is aligned with the same organized, diligent, and well-written person who will succeed in the awareness aspect. Without people management responsibility, you'll need to lead others to produce and maintain a small suite of corporate security policies. You’ll use your strong writing and editing skills to ensure succinct, high-quality policies.
If you are a quick thinker with an analytical mind, organized, diligent, and extremely well-written, this role will challenge and grow you further as an information security authority.
CommScope’s security team takes pride in protecting the people, processes, and technologies that serve our customers and their customers – the billions of people our products and services help connect daily. Join us and pursue your personal best!
- Take ownership of the current security awareness program and information security policy portfolio, which includes annual compliance training content, periodic all-employee emails, employee phishing, and more to ensure the continuity of these capabilities.
- Leverage industry resources and consultant feedback to mature the program. Establish compelling, data-driven efficiency measures, and track and advance performance against them.
- Review and freshen these yearly. Leverage legal team resources and industry resources feedback to resolve gaps in policy program. Identify internal subject-matter experts and facilitate the closure of identified gaps. Help to write, then be accountable for editing and publishing new policies.
- Project manage your own portfolio; effectively report and measure progress/success.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (4 years)
- Four or more years of professional experience with information security or other IT / technical disciplines and communicating relevant domain information with a non-technical audience.
- Outstanding writing, editing and visual presentation skills and outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to voice security support. The desire to serve and help others in the company succeed at security awareness.
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Previous experience as a consultant, especially for a major consulting firm
- Existing domain knowledge of security awareness and security policy. Previous experience working in these areas.
- Strong analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
