We are seeking a skilled Maintenance & Facilities Specialist to support our maintenance and facilities team with technical expertise in equipment teardowns, reassembly, and component sourcing. This role will involve troubleshooting aging equipment, procuring hard-to-find parts, reverse engineering components, and collaborating with multiple trades to ensure facility reliability.
The candidate will support two neighboring facilities located in Catawba and Claremont, North Carolina. Experience in ribbon, fiber, and copper cabling is highly desired.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World
- Provide hands-on technical support for equipment teardowns, repairs, and reassembly.
- Source and procure replacement parts for older equipment, leveraging local and offshore vendors.
- Reverse engineer components when necessary, working with tool vendors to create replacements.
- Collaborate with electricians, mechanics, HVAC technicians and general contractors to resolve facility and equipment issues.
- Assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation, including equipment schematics, repair procedures, and vendor contacts.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices. Arc Flash, LOTO and breaker identification.
- Provide technical maintenance / facilities support across both Catawba and Claremont facilities.
- Work with production and maintenance teams to drive process improvements.
- Troubleshoot and repair bulk material handling systems (Silos)
- Manage PM program
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Electrical experience, including the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work with control panels.
- Electrical certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Industrial Electrician, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in sourcing hard-to-find parts and working with vendors to manufacture obsolete components.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
