Our Cable Connectivity Solutions Team provides innovative fiber optic and copper cable and connectivity solutions for use in data centers, business enterprises, telecommunications, cable television and residential broadband networks.  we are hring for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Catawba, NC.

 

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for Quality support of production operations in CommScope’s North Carolina production facilities. You will work closely with other quality engineers, process engineering, operators, supervisors, project managers and external connectivity locations to maintain and improve external and internal quality, quality systems and manufacturing costs.     

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Active participation on new product development, cost reduction projects assigned, overseeing adherence established quality and work standards.
  • Supervision and development of quality technicians.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization regarding KPI’s and corrective and preventive actions
  • Complete and maintain quality deliverables such as control plans, test plans sampling justifications.
  • Monitor MRB areas, expedite dispositions and lead root cause analysis of internal failures.
  • Report, review and analyze customer complaints, using 8D methodology, identify repetitive issues, common root causes and trends to help drive reduction on overall complaints. Respond to both internal and external complaints.
  • Analyze, investigate, document and report supplier issues.
  • Review and analyze non-conformances to identify repetitive failure modes and trends by product family found during validation testing.
  • Support special quality projects or initiatives as needed.
  • Provide Engineering and preventive maintenance support for test equipment.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in related curriculum required.
  • Must have a good understanding of quality concepts, problem solving and process improvement techniques, root cause analysis, 8D methodology, FMEAs, control plans, SPC, CpK, DOEs, poka yoke.
  • Flexible to work in a variety of product lines and locations as needed while supporting shift work if necessry.
  • Experience or certification in auditing preferred (TL 9000, ISO 9001).
  • Possess a high-energy level, strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability or potential to present and report data to all levels of the organization.
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and is self-driven.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

You'll excite us if you have:

 

  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA or similar) .
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt certifications .
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems and database driven applications such as SQL, Visual Basic.
  • Experience in new product introduction, engineering changes and QMS systems.
