Due to increase in customer demand, CommScope is hiring Machine Operators in Catawba, NC!

How you'll help us connect the world:

  • The role is responsible for creating and maintaining kits and issuing them to production lines based on weekly schedules. This position also manages weekly inventories of odd fiber counts, gel, and multimode buffer tubes while maintaining an accurate fiber cabinet inventory at all times. The job requires close collaboration with Planners, Supervisors, Production Operators, and the Raw Material Planner to ensure current backlog orders are run according to manufacturing dates and that glass inventories—including multimode and odd fiber sets (4, 6, and 8 fiber sets)—are kept at agreed-upon levels. Additional responsibilities include reducing finished goods inventory by issuing pull-and-ship and pull-and-cut requests from unallocated warehouse stock; pulling colored glass and kitting jobs for all central tube products; and creating production schedules in Microsoft Excel for buffer lines when processing multimode, gel, and odd buffer tubes. The role also supports meeting manufacture dates and prioritizing expedites through ongoing coordination with the Planning team. Understanding and following the requirements of the EHS Policy, Standards, and relevant facility and operations EHS procedures. Performing assigned tasks, utilizing competencies obtained, to identify all OH&S risks and environmental impacts to which they are potentially exposed and mitigate exposure using defined controls. Reporting to supervisor, EHS or any other appropriate party(ies) identified by site management, EHS concerns immediately upon identification. Communicating opportunities to supervisor, EHS or any other appropriate party identified by site management that contributes to the continuous improvement of the EHSMS. 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Understands quality metrics and tools to perform quality checks
  • Read, understand, and follow job instructions

 

You Will Excite Us If:

  • Minimum 2 years Fiber operations experience strongly preferred
  • OTDR Testing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting tools required, SAP preferred
