Quality Engineer (m/f/d)

Quality engineer is a member of a team, the role of which is to support the implementation and execution of a quality approach in CommScope with the intent to deliver high quality products and service in a manner that meets the high standards held by CommScope.

This position has cross functional accountability and interactions with product management, operations, design engineering, technical support, planning, and any other applicable areas in support of improving overall Quality.  This pertains to the lifecycle of the product (Opportunity – Development – Deployment – End of Life). The quality engineer will utilize tools and methodologies to be able to facilitate/drive individual and cross functional efforts in problem solving quality issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Quality representative on cross functional teams during product development.  Responsibilities could include FMEA analysis, quality inputs for gate reviews, risk assessments, PDP adherence, change request review, etc.
  • Support of the local and global Quality team in continuous improvement activities, definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions as well as in the quality reporting.
  • Take initiative and action to respond, lead, resolve and follow up regarding quality issues with customer (internal and external) in timely manner.
  • Utilize basic and advance quality tools (Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, etc) to analyze and resolve product issues during all phases of the product life cycle (design, production, deployment, sustaining, end of life).
  • Analyze, assess, and develop processes that can improve quality, efficiency, effectiveness in product development or other areas of the business.
  • Quality functions such as but not limited to:
    • non-conformance analysis
    • Data analysis and report generation
    • Product Field performance analysis
    • Internal audits
    • Other quality functions not listed
      Profile:
  • Bachelor degree in electronics or equivalent education
  • Long-term practical experience as quality engineer in an R/D environment in telecommunication, military, automotive, or other electronics industry
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience of basic and advanced quality tools such as: TQM, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis (8D), Poke Yoke, Kaizen Lean Design/Manufacturing, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in German and English.  Demonstrated experience in writing reports is required
  • High proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, statistical and presentation software
  • Ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with individuals internal and external the organization on complex issues
  • Ability to effectively present information to internal and external groups (e.g., management, engineering)
  • Requires the ability to work in a team environment and a high level of self-motivation
  • Demonstration of Global, cross functional interactions
  • Experience with analyzing and developing procedures
