Assistant EMEA Statutory Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Assisting the EMEA statutory compliance deliverables in relation to the financial statement’s preparation, statutory audits and corporate income tax returns
• Preparation and maintenance of bridge files for differences between the US GAAP and statutory ledgers
• Liaising with internal (finance, legal, tax, HR) and external providers (auditors and tax advisers)
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting professional fees
• Assisting in any tax audits that arise
• Providing back up support to the EMEA Statutory Accountant and Finance Team as required

Requirements:
Accounting qualifications are not required for this role; however, a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting, is essential. While candidates do not need to have experience in preparing full financial statements, familiarity with profit and loss accounts and balance sheets is necessary.
In addition, the following are required:
• Fluent English as the role will involve reviewing financial and legal documents
• Computer literacy with strong proficiency in Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and a desire for accuracy
• Strong Organisational Skills
• The ability to work to tight dealines under pressue
• Ability to take ownership, be proactive and achieve desired results
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team and to interact at all levels in the business
• SAP experience and international accounting experience would be an advantage but not essential
