We are seeking an analytical, results driven, energetic Procurement Buyer, with previous procurement experience. 

 

As a Buyer you will be responsible for carrying out broad assignments involving all aspects concerning the procurement of direct and indirect materials as needed to meet business requirements. You will also develop sources of supply where vendors and preferred suppliers are inadequate. As required, you will lead efforts in preferred supplier selection and management regarding price, lead-time and term negotiations.

This role reports into the Procurement Manager and is based in our Berkeley Vale office on the Central Coast of NSW.

It is advantageous for the successful candidate to posses professional purchasing qualifications and possess the following:

  • Proven ability to exercise judgement and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters
  • Well versed in cost/price analysis techniques
  • Results focused with the ability to motivate and influence others as well as build trust and respect
  • Strong customer focus
  • Highly energized and self-motivated with experience in working with teams to implement change
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks which have competing demands, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently lead cross-functionally as well as with suppliers and customers
  • Can effectively communicate with all levels
  • Track record of successful project management
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex issues
  • Ability to pre-empt problems and create opportunities for improvements to ensure quality of the outcomes
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong ability to plan and organise with excellent attention to detail
  • Successfully demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative and achieve outcomes
  • Computer literacy with an ability to interpret reports and information
  • Advanced skills and experience in the use of MS Office
  • SAP Experience essential
