Minimum of 5+ years related work experience in OSP and/or ISP fiber detailed design. Highly preferred 7+ years’ experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities preferred.
Summary:
Provide CAD drafting Services in support of a variety of new physical network infrastructure design projects (“Projects”) as well as developing building information management ("BIM") models (a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a facility). Create professional-quality CAD drawings meeting Edge requirements. Assist Project teams with scope requirements, content creation and coordination efforts. Attend meetings between Edge, colocation providers (“COLO’S”), and potentially other third parties involved in the architecture and engineering of Edge sites and locations, to provide statement-of-work and design details for Projects. Vendor shall provide this support for all phases of the project lifecycle.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, documents and adhere to Client design requirements. Document network infrastructure and assist in maintaining accuracy in all required documentation and systems. As necessary and as required by Edge, construct, and update drawings in Edge proprietary tools.
• Draft CAD drawings in accordance with Edge design standards (which will be provided by Edge to Vendor) and in accordance with architectural, civil, and structural engineering principles and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with document control teams to manage all Project documents during a Project lifecycle.
• Deliver POP site plans in Edge’s design standard format.
• Output documentation to Edge repositories with version controls. Produce regular reports on completed CAD documentation.
• Provide design lead with updates on progress and roadblocks.
• Participate in developing process improvement concepts.
• Assist Project teams with scope requirements, content creation and coordination efforts.
• Output documentation to Edge repositories with version controls. Produce regular reports on completed CAD documentation.
• Review designs for quality and cost improvements.
• Data Center CAD Engineering Services.
• Understand project milestones. Monitor status of milestones and provide regular updates.
• Help maintain project records and files.
• Support QC and as built efforts with design changes/updates.
