General Summary:

Seeking an Embedded Software engineer (Applications software) to design, develop and integrate Datapath, Networking, and other Applications in embedded systems for a telecommunication product. Prefer experience on Xilinx SoC.

You will have the opportunity to participate in architecture decisions while also being involved in product and design processes. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of Linux kernel, userspace drivers, and applications.
  • Programming SoCs and Multi-core processors at the application software level.
  • Design and implementation of ethernet and IP networking protocols.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of embedded software designs.
  • Embedded software platform requirement analysis, architecture, design, and development.
  • Write functional, design, and test specifications.
  • Prototyping software for new products on very timelines.
  • Assist junior engineers with coding and troubleshooting.
  • Stay up to date on new technologies.
  • Collaborate with hardware and system engineering teams and collaborators

Skills Required:

  • BS in EE/CS with 12+ years of Embedded Firmware development experience or MS with a proven track record.
  • Experience with design and development on multi-threaded and multi-processor systems (Preferably Xilinx Ultrascale+ MPSoC or RFSoC).
  • Experience in cross-platform development and build tools (Preferably experience on Xilinx build tools PetaLinux or Yocto based tools)
  • Good debugging skills using standard and sophisticated H/W and S/W debuggers (GDB, Lauterbach, and JTAG).
  • Experience developing kernel and user-space tracing and device drivers. Must have worked on SMP scalability issues in kernel and user mode drivers.
  • Experience in BSPs, boot loaders, writing peripheral drivers, and memory management. New Platform porting and bringing up expertise is a must.
  • Experience in working with bus protocols (I2C, SPI, MDIO, JESD, etc.)
  • Experience with high-speed ethernet protocols (preferably USXGMII 1/2.5/5/10G protocol, 25 Gigabit ethernet protocols)
  • Experience with Software Architecture design and system-level development
  • Expert in Linux kernel, Networking, Socket Programming
  • Expert in Linux kernel internals, debugging, and solving problems
  • Strong programming experiences in C and C++
  • Expertise in Linux programming, thread programming, IPCs.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication
