Product Compliance Manager

The Manager (or Sr. Manager of experience with exposure to strategic role) of Product Compliance at Aurora Networks will lead the development, execution, and governance of global product compliance programs. This position manages a core team of two Product Compliance Engineers, with future growth possible as obligations expand. The manager ensures alignment across Engineering, Procurement, Product Management, Sales, and Operations to support proactive compliance from product design through supplier engagement, manufacturing, reporting, and customer response workflows.

This leader must be able to evaluate regulatory and commercial risks, synthesize complex compliance data into clear business recommendations, and guide executives toward strategic decisions that balance compliance obligations, product timelines, cost impacts, and customer expectations. Beyond technical compliance expertise, this role requires strong business acumen to assess trade-offs, define mitigation strategies, and shape the organization’s direction based on data‑driven risk analysis.

Global accountability across North America, Europe, CALA, and Asia-Pacific with responsibility for regulatory interpretation, risk management, compliance program execution, and strategic business guidance. This position will be based on Apodaca.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

 

  • Manage global and regional compliance activities including regulatory filings, product-level assessments, supplier data collection, and reporting obligations.
  • Oversee key compliance programs related to RoHS, REACH, PFAS, Conflict Minerals, WEEE/EPR, Safety certifications, and environmental due diligence.
  • Establish governance processes, training, documentation, and policy frameworks supporting audit-ready global compliance operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to embed compliance considerations early in design and supply-chain planning.
  • Provide risk-based business guidance to leadership, enabling informed decisions that balance compliance, cost, schedule, and market access impacts.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a global product compliance team, starting with two Product Compliance Engineers.
  • Oversee programs covering hazardous substances, restricted chemicals, global PFAS rulemaking, RoHS/REACH, and country-specific recycling and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure structured processes for supplier data acquisition, validation, and integration into SI, SAP, CMRT/EMRT, EHSM, or similar systems.
  • Direct customer and regulatory reporting including SCIP, plastics registry, microplastics filings, WEEE/EPR, PFAS disclosures, and customer certification packages.
  • Conduct regulatory intelligence and provide forward-looking insights on emerging rules affecting Aurora Networks’ product lines.
  • Partner with Engineering for materials selection, green design, and ensuring proactive compliance readiness.
  • Own policy management, procedures, RFP/RFQ compliance documentation, and audit-ready governance.
  • Translate compliance data into clear business risk assessments and decision paths for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in global product or materials compliance.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead teams and provide strategic, risk-based business recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of RoHS, REACH, PFAS, Conflict Minerals, EPR/WEEE, and global product legislation.
  • Ability to interpret global regulatory frameworks and implement structured compliance systems.
  • Advanced analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to convey complex regulatory information in business terms (desired as strategic role presence).
  • Capability to coach and mentor technical staff.
  • Global mindset and ability to work across time zones.
