Title:  Customs Manager

Req ID:  75611
Location:

Amsterdam, Other, Netherlands

In our ‘always on’ world, we believe it’s essential to have a genuine connection with the work you do.

Imagine yourself as the manager of the Customs team at CommScope, a company committed to guaranteeing that all its customs processes are accomplished in full compliance with Dutch and EU regulations.

Join our team at CommScope's Veenendaal DC, and be a part of a team, committed to maintaining the highest standards of customs compliance, continuously improving processes, and building positive relationships with Dutch customs authorities.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Logistics for EMEA and leading the team of one Douane Declarant and three Customs Specialists onsite, you will coordinate processes, ensuring customs formalities are completed on time and in compliance with regulations. You also handle complex issues, own the AEO (Authorised Economic Operators) processes, and keep up-to-date with the AO/IC documentation.

In addition to your day-to-day duties, you are leading a project to move current customs activities to the new Dutch customs system DMS. You keep abreast of new regulations and programs to ensure they are implemented in CommScope's IT system (SAP) and DMS (Descartes).

Focusing on continuous improvement means you are always looking for ways to develop and implement a comprehensive customs training program to improve the team's technical and operational knowledge.

As a team, we provide high-level and detailed training on customs matters to the wider organization. We work closely with Planning and Logistics at all manufacturing locations and distribution centers to support critical initiatives in EMEA.

We act as the first point of contact for Customs matters, bringing up issues or concerns to regional and senior management.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Completed Dutch Customs Broker exam (Douane Declarant) & completed (or still studying) the MCTA (Manager Customs & Trade Affairs) post HBO study
  • At least 5+ years’ experience managing and working in a Supply Chain with International Import & Export Regulations; Customs Authorities, Customs Brokers, Clearance Procedures, and Export Licenses.
  • Dutch and English speaker.

You Will Excite Us If You Have:

  • Significant experience with ERP and reporting tools: SAP & Descartes
