Title:  Senior Principal, Antenna Design Engineer- Richardson, Texas

We are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Senior Principal Antenna Design Engineer for an opportunity located in Richardson, TX.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design of base station antennas for existing 3G/4G wireless bands along with developing 5G beamformers within the sub-6 bands.
  • Design, simulate, and test lens structures and antenna arrays for active beamforming and tilt control.
  • Design, simulate, and test wideband antenna elements and features for aperture tuning and sidelobe control.  Design and simulate antennas using CST and/or HFSS.  
  • Test antenna and array prototypes in near-field anechoic chamber and outdoor far field range to verify gain, cross-pol isolation, sidelobes along with all other parameters critical to basestation antennas.      
  • Perform system analysis of Basestation Antennas as it relates to overall performance of wireless networks.
  • Direct experience in providing technical leadership and serving as a mentor to globally located R&D teams.



  • Bachelors of Science or related field with 15+ years of direct experience.  Advanced degree preferred.



  • 10+ years of experience designing antennas in the sub-6GHz bands including all aspects of system design along the passive RF path i.e. Radiators, Phase Shifters, Diplexers, Splitters, Couplers etc
  • Experience in active and adaptive beamforming RF systems. Must have experience working at sub-6GHz frequencies through direct involvement in 4G/5G telecom networks
  • Experience providing technical leadership to a team of globally placed R&D staff.
  • Extensive experience in design and simulation of microwave band antennas including dipole, biquad, yagi, patch, and flared notch antennas and associated reflectors supporting linear and circular polarizations. 
  • Experience designing MIMO array, phased array, and/or beamforming antenna arrays based upon cross-polar elements configurations. 
  • Background in frequency selective surface for wideband antenna tuning and pattern optimizations
  • Experience in radome and lens simulations and implementation
  • Experience in directly interfacing with customers to understand requirements and present technical solutions.
  • Extensive experience in antenna design and simulation using CST and/or HFSS and beamforming simulation using MatLab. 
  • Background in antenna test and verification using anechoic chamber.
  • Deep hands on experience measuring PIM on basestation arrays
  • Background in electronically tunable Phase Shifters is preferred.
  • Background in mmwave antenna design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of wireless infrastructure architectures and air interface standards including LTE, HSPA as well as some exposure to 5G-NR.
  • Skilled in thorough documentation and presentation of antenna design concepts, simulation results, and test results.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both in written and in verbal form.
  • Must demonstrate leadership abilities to influence senior engineering and management teams.
