How You’ll Help Us Connect the World

As an Electrical Engineering Co-op, you will be part of a team in the Cable and Connectivity Systems business unit that is responsible for Passive Optical Networking products.  You will be part of a multidisciplinary Hardware R&D team that designs, develops, tests, and delivers PON/FTTH (Fiber to the Home) products to market.   You will gain experience and exposure to engineering development practices and methods.

 

This role will be based in Lowell, MA, and will start in June and end in December 2023 

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Providing support to lead Engineers in the development, testing, and integration of our products
  • Developing and Reviewing Electrical CAD drawings, bill of materials, and design specifications
  • Analyzing test data, troubleshooting, and developing problem-solving skills as part of Design Verification Testing
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary colleagues (SW, SQA, SC, PLM)

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s (upcoming sophomores, juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Relevant courses related to electrical circuits and electrical transmission
  • Currently enrolled in a Co-Op program at current university
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship
  • Military-Affiliated candidates encouraged to apply (Veterans, Military Spouses, and Guard/Reservists)

  • Have taken Fiber optics or Photonics coursework
  • Have exposure to Schematic Tools, Signal Integrity Simulation tools
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team
  • Able to balance multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong initiative; a self-starter with analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to changing priorities
