CommScope is hiring a Drafter II to join our Bermudez Team.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

The primary responsibility of this position will be to support new product development. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Project

Process engineering changes of drawings and bills of materials using CAD Software, the MRP system, and the engineering release system.

Request prototype jobs and create necessary documentation to process them. Develop varied and routine assignments with engineer direction; works with general instructions for routine and detailed new tasks.

Performs basic analysis of geometric tolerances in the assessment of problems related to product assembly’s design.

Contributes with design modifications to aid on the manufacturing and quality of product.

Assist and supports the design engineers with the evaluation, assessment and resolution of the problems associated with product design.

Department

Develop awareness of corporate, business unit, and department quality management system documentation.

Develop awareness of CAD software capabilities.

Develop awareness of design and drafting practices for the range of parts and assemblies.

Develop awareness of manufacturing practices for the range of parts and assemblies.

Participate in process improvement efforts and group training.

Drafter positions are eligible for promotions to Designer.

Accountability of this position:

Accountable to Engineering Management in support of the business unit growth objectives.

Education and Experience Required

• Currently studying final semesters of Professional Career in Engineering field related to Design.
• Skilled user of 3D CAD software.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and Bill of Material structure.
• Familiarity with drawing and tolerance standards.
• English- Capability in oral/read/written communication (60% or above).

Skills Required

• Knowledge and skilled user of MS Office.

• Detail oriented.
• Ability to effectively work within a team environment. Time-management skills.
• Creativity, be able to turn plans and ideas into engineering drawings.

You Will Excite us if you Have

• Knowledge CREO/CAD software.
• Knowledge of SAP.
• Knowledge of sheet metal or plastics design and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with the product development process in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with fiber optic products.
