Due to growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a Legal Operations Analyst to join our team in Hickory, NC.




The Legal Operations Specialist position is responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results and providing ongoing reports and metrics to execute our primary goal to create quality partnerships with legal vendors, while improving cost-efficiency, value, and forecasting. The specialist will use critical thinking and apply creative problem-solving techniques to improve process efficiency to our vendor management systems.


The position requires active participation in the development and implementation of world class law department operation. A qualified candidate will be a self-starter who demonstrates the internal drive necessary to create, validate and manage multiple processes within a tight timeline, supporting other team members on projects when needed.



  • Liase with third party vendors and Legal Department members utilizing the department’s Matter & Billing Management System. Work directly and professionally with vendors to resolve issues and ensures compliance with department guidelines. Determine next step of action for system troubleshooting.
  • Effectuates the daily invoicing process for the Law Department, including payment inquiries, troubleshooting and process improvements.  This includes analyzing the invoice content and related charges and determining the next action step.  Through invoice analysis determine common issues among firms and communicate/educate firms on processes.  Interpret invoices to extract spending trends and alert attorneys and staff of key issues.
  • Makes recommendations on technology and process improvement opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction; plans and implements within Global department.
  • Assists in managing the worldwide Legal Department engagement process, coordinating meetings with firms and responsible CommScope attorneys, and performing new vendor and matter intake.     
  • Extracts, collects, or organizes and analyzes data from several source systems used by the legal department, packaging for widespread circulation using best practice metrics and infographics.
  • Ensures dissemination and accessibility of resources for attorneys and company personnel.
  • Administer reoccurring data processes using various legal systems, evaluating for refinement and efficiency.
  • Aid departmental initiatives by assisting with data refinement efforts and use system analytics to provide benchmarking insights.
  • Provide support for departmental staff with miscellaneous tasks as assigned. 
  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in legal or corporate environment or related field
  • An ownership mentality, exceptional follow through skills, flexibility in embracing frequent change in all forms
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills necessary to deal with internal and external contacts, as well as an ability to interact comfortably with many levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work load, and display high-level organizational skills.
  • Self-confident, self-directed, and ability to work with various levels of staff and management
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to remain calm, work in a fast paced, at times pressured environment, and balance competing  priorities
  • Skilled in problem solving and analytical reasoning
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology
