Title:  Automation Developer Intern

As an Automation Developer Intern for CommScope’s network team, you will help transform a growing fortune 500’s network infrastructure as a member of the emerging network automation team seeking to drive business value, service consistency, and lay the digital foundation for the company. This team designs, develops, and implements scalable automation tools to orchestrate the operations and implementations of networking technologies within CommScope’s global network footprint.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research, track, and understand new automation programming tools and languages to provide technical leadership in developing service applications. Creative thinking and innovative solutions are encouraged.
  • Build and maintain applications using a variety of programming tools.
  • Manage, develop, integrate, and implement related application components such as ticketing system interfaces.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to understand needs and implement solutions based on defined requirements.
  • Participate in responding to network incidents and change requests. 
  • Work closely with other team members to meet team goals and improve processes.
  • Create network automation documentation and network automation standard documents as assigned.
  • Takes personal responsibility for making meeting commitments and ensuring expected results are achieved.


Education & Skills

  • High School diploma
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree curriculum
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to facilitate interactions with business clients and members of other technology teams
  • Ability to communicate, and present verbally and written, with a high level of confidence and skill 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  


Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to a variety of programming/automation technologies to include but not limited to Python, Ansible, or Jinja2
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with APIs such as REST
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
