Title:  Trailer and C/M Mechanic

Position Summary:

<span style="mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Provide all repairs and preventive maintenance tasks for CTI Trailer Fleet as well as CargoMasters.


Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Complete advanced preventative maintenance inspections to comply with DOT regulations and assist with basic mechanical repairs.
  • Utilize basic understanding of trailer maintenance, diagnosis, and repair, root causes of common issues, and corrective steps to keep trailers running at maximum efficiency.
  • Inspect, adjust and repair all CargoMaster related issues in timely manner and make sure they are operational before leaving garage.
  • Familiarity with electrical, ABS brake system, suspension, landing gear, CargoMaster, DOT Inspections, and PM Inspections.
  • Diagnose, trouble shoot and repair any mechanical and electrical problems
  • Utilize computer programs to track various information such as Asset Tracking, Work Order Management, Parts Management, etc.
  • Recognize and identify, non-trailer specific related repair or maintenance items
  • Repair and change tires
  • Assist in the moving of equipment around the yard.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area compliant with OSHA, and company regulation and policy.
  • Perform additional duties as required.


Physical Requirements

Standing, squatting, reaching, twisting and lifting 50 lbs, maneouver up to 100 lbs. with assistance.



Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to weld and do minor fabrication on trailers.
  • Able to pull trailers in and out of garage with yard truck, in limited space.
  • Have at least 5 years of Trailer repair experience.
  • Be able to weld and handle minor fabrication
  • Intermediate computer skills (Meritor/Wabco)
  • Proficient with mechanical, electrical, ABS, Brake and Suspension systems.  
  • ASE Certification (preferred)
  • CDL license (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
