Title:  Quality Technician

The QUALITY TECHNICIAN will be responsible for resolving all factory floor-level quality issues at our Bray site. As a member of the daily factory-floor level team, they will provide direct support to production processes, resolve problems and apply improvement actions. They will also help administer non-conforming product via the MRB (Materials Review Board), generate reports and do Root Cause analysis work. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The role requires an excellent understanding of process and product. It will be necessary to develop and maintain detailed product and cable manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Deal with daily MRB cases. Produce Root Cause Analysis for non-conformances. Generate and execute timely follow-up actions to address Root Causes.
  • Provide Quality technical support to the cable manufacturing teams. Scrap reduction through improved quality is an objective of the role. Work with Quality and other teams to develop actions that improves overall factory performance.
  • Create reports that describe process and product quality. Contribute to analysis of data and identification of critical-to-quality factors.
  • Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement teams, relative to corporate quality goals.
  • Operate both within teams and independently to ensure the successful implementation of improvements.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Certificate or Diploma level technical qualification required (Quality, Manufacturing or Process related)
  • 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Manufacturing Process and factory experience required (experience in Continuous Manufacturing processes an advantage)
  • Problem Solving skills – experience in Root Cause Analysis. This may be via formal or informal means, but an understanding of structured approach is required.
  • Ability to create reports that provide a high-level summary, capture required level of detail and offer fact-based analysis / conclusions.
  • Must be detail oriented for conducting investigations and creating and maintaining reports.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • The role requires good interpersonal skills and an ability to generate and implement actions in collaboration with the various Manufacturing, Engineering and Operations teams.
